I have had two 320gb drive since last Jan still run great, speed is faster than the two WD5001aals carver black I just got two days ago.I will be returning them and getting two more of the 320'sWestern Digital WD3200KSRTL Caviar 320 GB SATA 3.5-Inch Hard Drive
My system wouldn't boot again to do the replacement and cloning. It threw a couple of "disk needs to be checked" alerts from Windows startup, and I took that as my cue to purchase a new drive and did. I will not purchase another Western Digital Caviar drive. I was very happy with the drive's ease of installation and the performance was great. Right up until the time it died. 16 months from happy camper to totally dead.
There was no cable included or driver disk. It really is just a bare drive in a box. I would have been better off just buying an OEM driver from another online vendor, and saved money doing so.
It didn't, but it's still a nicer harddrive than I had- quieter, faster (usually. When I purchased it it came with no cables- some reviews mention cables and even discs and manuals, but it was not the case with mine- i bought a cheap cable off of newegg though, and plugging it all in and getting it set up wasn't hard. I got this in hopes that replacing the harddrive would fix my computer's crashing problem. But then, my computer's a lemon, so i can't be hard on this drive).
Easy installation, but didn't come with a SATA cable. Excellent Hard drive so far, no problems. 5.9 on WEI for Windows 7.
